GUNDAM AMPHION [Launcher Strike]

Posted by WAYLANDER

I've finally got this in the bag! My entry for the Hobby Art Gallery Age-1 Group Build is completed woot :P. I'm satisfied with how the colours turned out. This build has certainly given me some insights into how to play around with pastel colours. So without further ado folks, less talk more pics. Here we go....

Age-1 mega size [weathered]

 Posted by WAYLANDER

Aaaand it's a wrap guys! I've completed every part in the 1/48 mega size Age-1. Finally! My first full gunpla build for 2012. Whew! This baby was a monster to paint, even OOB, cos of the sheer amount of surface area. This was just a pet project and leisure build to get me into the groove of the Age series. I must say the Age 1 truly grows on you, much like the RX.

RX-78 [Resin conversion]

Posted by WAYLANDER

A little something to share with you guys - a resin RX Ver Ka. 1/100 conversion, using the inner frame of the  MG RX 2.0.

TOY REVIEW: HERCULES

Posted by WAYLANDER

I've had this baby for quite some time now, but never had the time to assemble it and take some pics for a post. Well finally, here it is!  Hercules by TFC Toys. No prizes for guessing which *ahem* devastating TF this monster is based on.

TOY REVIEW: BRUTICUS (CROSSFIRE VER.)

Posted by WAYLANDER

The Cross-fire Bruticus combines the original BM toys from Hasbro with extra third-party products from HK-based company FansProject that make for a bad-ass lookin' gestalt, just as it should be!

KILLA BEE (DMK - WFC Bumblebee kitbash)

Posted by WAYLANDER

This is a kitbash from the DMK (Dual Model Kit) model kit, and WFC (War For Cybertron) toy. The idea was to make Bee more badass, and less cute. I'm pretty happy with the results. As for the base dio, I felt that less is more. So a smaller, simpler base should accentuate Bee, which is the intention. For flashy stand-alone pics of Bee, check it HERE. Otherwise, here we go!!~

OPTIMUS PRIME (Resin conversion)

Posted by WAYLANDER

I've always envisioned a Gundam-proportioned Optimus Prime instead of the boxy-looking toys from Hasbro. So when I came across this garage kit in HK, I went for it. This is a conversion kit using the frame of the MG RX-78 OYW ver.

MG Epyon (OOB)

Posted by WAYLANDER

Nothing much to say about this baby since it's an OOB job done for a store display. The highlight was having to complete it in four days. Yes, FOUR days!!! I think I struck off five years of my life span just from this build. Lol. It's definitely one of my most rushed jobs ever.

PG ASTRAY (Flight type)

Posted by WAYLANDER

This is the first ever piece I did for a competition - BAKUC 2010. It won for Best Newcomer. The piece has already been sold to a customer.

PG DOUBLE 0

Posted by WAYLANDER

This is one of my favourite pieces....This was one of my earliest 'serious' works where I've more or less figured out how to use the airbrush and build a kit. This was done about two years ago, and still remains one of my favourites.

MG EXIA (SHADOW MODE)

Posted by WAYLANDER

Presenting the MG Exia, OOB commission in stealth scheme. I'm quite satisfied with the results, as I didn't know how the colour scheme would turn out at first. I hope the client agrees! :P Less words, more pics. Enjoy:

HYAKU SHIKI Revised (GBWC 2011 3rd Place)

Posted by WAYLANDER

To kick off this blog, here's the Hyaku Shiki Revised. (The Forgotten Warrior). This kit came in 3rd at the GBWC 2011.

BEARGUY (CUSTOM)

Posted by WAYLANDER

Just a fun job I last year for a group build project. Yup. The Bearguy, ugly as hell though he was - was all the rage last year when first released, and people were doing him up in every theme possible sooooo, why not an Iron Bear eh?
